Chinese traditional poems and songs have been closely integrated and sung for thousands of years. People respond to music with poetry, express their feelings with songs, and depict life with poems and songs. Every word in poems and songs is exquisite, expressing the Chinese culture and traditions of over five thousand years; the mutual reflection of poetry and song is timeless and deeply touching. This programme brings us back to the Chinese poetry and music of thousands of years ago to explore their unique characteristics. Traditional Chinese culture has provided an important source of literary and artistic innovation, prompting the popularisation of classic poetry and also cannonising modern music.
